How
much does something weight? To find out you could use a scale
balance which is shone in the picture on the left. If you wish to
weigh an objects of up to forty pounds you could use this kind of scale.
This type of scale works by balancing the unknown object with
counterweights whose weight is known. The object being weighed is placed
in a pan on one side. Counterweights are placed in a pan on the other
side of the scale. When the amount of counterweight is equal to the
weight of the unknown object, the scale balances. You can use
counter weights of grams, ounces, or pounds.
